frequently asked questions

  • How long will I be in therapy?
The duration of therapy varies for each person, as it depends on several factors, including the nature of the issue, your personal goals, and how ready you feel to engage in the process. Typically, we recommend at least six sessions for those seeking brief therapy, but some individuals may benefit from a longer-term commitment, while others might prefer a more extended journey of growth and healing. Most clients tend to find themselves somewhere in the middle. If you're using insurance, it may play a role in determining the length of your treatment, but we'll work together to create a plan that feels right for you. No matter the duration, therapy is your personal journey, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.
  • Can therapy really help me?
It’s natural to wonder about the process and whether it can make a difference. Therapy provides a safe space to share your feelings, which in itself can bring relief. But beyond that, it helps you uncover the deeper roots of your challenges, so you can break free from unhelpful patterns. Therapy also helps you navigate emotional roadblocks that may be standing in the way of your healing and personal growth. Every journey is unique, and together, we’ll find the approach that works best for you. I'm here to support you as we work through whatever is holding you back and move toward a brighter, more balanced future.
  • But you don’t know me. How can you help me?
That’s actually one of the benefits of therapy! Having someone who isn’t personally involved in your life can offer a fresh, objective perspective on what you're going through. As a trained professional, I can provide support in ways that may be different from what friends or family can offer. Together, we can explore your situation with care and understanding, and work toward solutions that feel right for you.
  • Do you accept insurance? What are your rates?
We currently accept the following insurances: Aetna, Cigna, CHAMPVA, United Healthcare, ESI Employee Assistance Group We also accept self-pay clients. Self-pay rate - $180 per hr. for individual sessions, $300 per intake session
